December 2016. It was past midnight. I was asleep but my siblings were awake in the sitting room. Earlier that day, I remember the delivery guy has brought the new speaker I ordered. The next thing I know is that some guys were in the room asking me to stand up. They were armed robbers. I did stand up and they bundled me and my siblings and locked us in a room. Except our last born who was not even up to 12 years then. They packed our mobile phones, iPads, laptops and put it in a bag. They jumped the fence and left or so we thought. We tried to open the door because our last born was still in another room. These guys came back with more aggression, pointing the gun at my younger brother and threatening to shoot him. I fell to my knees begging. Asking them to shoot me instead and leave him. It was a miracle. They didn’t shoot. They left again, this time, for real. By this time, our last born woke up and came to unlock the door. He had no clue what had happened. It was as if he was invisible to the robbers.
